6 Times Table

The 6 times table builds on facts children already know: 6 × 7 is 5 × 7 plus one more 7, which is 35 + 7 = 42. It is also the 3 times table doubled.

All facts of the 6 times table

Read the table aloud once, then cover the answers and say them from memory.

  • 6 × 1 = 6
  • 6 × 2 = 12
  • 6 × 3 = 18
  • 6 × 4 = 24
  • 6 × 5 = 30
  • 6 × 6 = 36
  • 6 × 7 = 42
  • 6 × 8 = 48
  • 6 × 9 = 54
  • 6 × 10 = 60

How to remember it

Times 6 is times 5 plus one more group: 6 × 7 = 35 + 7 = 42.

How to solve this

  • The ×6 table combines the ×2 and ×3 tables: 6 × n = (2 × n) + (2 × n) + (2 × n), or more easily (2 × n) × 3.
  • All results of ×6 are even numbers: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60.
  • Check using the ×5 helper: 6 × n = (5 × n) + n — add n to the ×5 result.
