4 Times Table
The 4 times table is the 2 times table doubled: 2 × 6 = 12, so 4 × 6 = 24. Every answer is even, and counting by 4s (4, 8, 12, 16 …) helps check each fact.
All facts of the 4 times table
Read the table aloud once, then cover the answers and say them from memory.
- 4 × 1 = 4
- 4 × 2 = 8
- 4 × 3 = 12
- 4 × 4 = 16
- 4 × 5 = 20
- 4 × 6 = 24
- 4 × 7 = 28
- 4 × 8 = 32
- 4 × 9 = 36
- 4 × 10 = 40
How to remember it
Times 4 is doubling twice: 4 × 7 → 14 → 28.
How to solve this
- The ×4 table is double the ×2 table: to find 4 × n, double n and then double again.
- Results: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40 — all even numbers.
- Check: 4 × n should equal (2 × n) + (2 × n); if not, redo the doubling step.
