Calendar
Calendar skills combine counting with everyday life: which day comes after Tuesday, which month is number 5, and how many days are in 3 weeks. Children also count forward from a date, like 3 days after May 10.
How to solve this
- A calendar shows days, weeks, and months; one week has 7 days and one year has 12 months.
- To count days between two dates, count each day on the calendar one by one, or subtract the day numbers if they are in the same month.
- Check by naming the day of the week for both dates and counting the days in between on your fingers.
