Number sequences
In a number pattern every step changes the number by the same amount. Children spot the rule, for example +3 in 73, 76, 79, and use it to find the next or missing numbers, counting forward and backward up to 100.
How to solve this
- A number sequence follows a fixed rule — find the rule by subtracting any term from the next one.
- Once you know the step size, add it to (or subtract it from) the last known term to get the next.
- Check the whole sequence: applying the same step every time should reproduce every number in the list.
Examples
10, 20, 30, __, __
40, 50
73, 76, 79, __
82
