Written division
Practise choosing each quotient digit, multiplying back, subtracting, and bringing down the next digit.
How to solve this
- At each step, ask how many times the divisor fits into the current part of the number.
- Multiply the chosen quotient digit back and subtract; the remainder at each step must be smaller than the divisor.
- Check the final answer by multiplying divisor × quotient and adding any remainder.
