Number sequences

Practise fixed steps, decreasing sequences, doubling, halving, and simple alternating patterns.

How to solve this

  • Subtract one term from the next to test for a fixed step: 1200, 1300, 1400 adds 100 each time.
  • If the numbers grow quickly, check for doubling: 250, 500, 1000, 2000 doubles each term.
  • For decreasing sequences, the step is negative; 10,000, 9500, 9000 subtracts 500 each time.
