Grade 4 Math

Liters and milliliters

Practise 1 l = 1000 ml, mixed litre-millilitre notation, and comparisons of liquid amounts.

How to solve this

  • Capacity often uses litres for larger amounts and millilitres for smaller amounts; 1 litre is 1000 millilitres.
  • To compare 2 l and 1500 ml, convert 2 l to 2000 ml first.
  • For mixed notation, split millilitres into full thousands and the remainder: 2500 ml is 2 l 500 ml.

Examples

1 l = __ ml
