Compare and order numbers
Compare and order numbers helps children practise comparing three-digit numbers using hundreds first, then tens, then ones — and sorting sets in order. Read the short guide and look through the examples before choosing online practice or a printable worksheet.
How to solve this
- To compare three-digit numbers, first compare hundreds; if equal, compare tens; if still equal, compare ones.
- When ordering a list, sort by the highest place value first — write the final sequence and double-check each step.
- Check that consecutive numbers in your ordered list differ in the correct direction (each is larger or smaller).
