Greater, smaller, equal
Greater, smaller, equal helps children practise comparing two-digit numbers with <, >, and = by looking at tens first, then ones. Read the short guide and look through the examples before choosing online practice or a printable worksheet.
How to solve this
- To compare two numbers, first look at the number of digits; more digits means a larger number.
- If both numbers have the same number of digits, compare the tens digit first, then the ones digit.
- Check that the symbol "points" at the smaller number: 34 < 52 means 34 is smaller.
